Thats where i have seen large wings like this. We do use the jumbo wings and thats the only place i have noticed. Fresh market, i believe, has them also. Ours are jointed so its the drumy and the flap (TRT=00:26)
08:26:34.80 Lucky you, lucky, lucky me Quite often lately ive been asked what it means to be a musician in austin, and part of what it means is to receive this support in the city, specifically the health care through haam. Haam benefit day is coming month on the 22nd at Whole Foods downtown. Last year, this day helped raise more than $150,000 to help provide these services (TRT=00:41)
08:45:37.11 And what happened in our health care system that caused it to happen? Yeah, dagen, thats a great question. There are a number of factors at work. First of all, its clear, health care has to get more expensive because there are more technologies involved and these are great and i endorse them and embrace the technology, but they do cost money so people started to worry about the increased cost of being on a recment of pharmaceutical drugs or knew diagnostics or computized systems and they cost money. At the same time more government involvement and medicare and medicaid at 65. Youve seen increased in costs and costs rising faster in medicare and medicaid than the overall system so because of these things, youve had more, more costs, but i think there are better ways to control costs if you have consumer more involved. Brian: like what, if you know, of course the other argument people say you still have a choice of your health care. Very few people have an actual choice now, i mean, you know, most people, their company provides a plan and they provide one provider and youre under their plan, so, how do woo extend consumer choice, consumer availability? Let me talk about two things, first of all, i used to work for the department of health and human services, deputy secretary there. And the secretary is mike leavitt. Mike leavitt went to china and he went to a medical clinic and he saw a board up there, like a menu board at a fast food restaurant here, and it listed the prices of each service. You dont get that with the doctor or hospital here, having awareness of what the prices are and compare, its a huge deal and can help drive down costs and the other issue, there are smart companies, i think of safeway and Whole Foods that provide people with choices and incentives and give people a lump sum and they say youre going to get this money. If you use the money wisely, you will have some left over at the end of the year for nonhealth care expenses, but this money is your money to use for health care in the year and we give you flexibility to use it as you see fit. Well, thats really helped drive down costs for those companies and as you know, for major companies, health care is a huge component of their cost so they also have an interest in driving down costs. Dagen: but these are small moves and small ideas, ultimately, is it what its what will it take is to rip up this health care system we have. Get rid of employer-based insurance where its subsidized. Where the costs are hidden and really change the way that medicare operates, because again, youve got subsidized costs and hidden costs. Yeah, i dont have a lot of hope for reducing costs in medicare, but id like to maintain the private system as the level it is, and start to reduce the cost of the private system. One of the ways of doing that is changing the tax incentives (TRT=02:44)
02:52:21.11 Well, thank you for doing that. Well, i tell you, it was really it was my pleasure i have to say. You know, the movies not historically accurate. But if theres one thing thats supremely satisfying, its jewish guys coming up to me in Whole Foods , going, "man, thanks for making the jews look cool, look tough." I feel like im doing my part (TRT=00:16)

06:44:11.16 After a rough start to september The markets are in positive territory this morning Taking a look at the numbers: the dow the nasdaq qualcomm illumina saic investors are watching closely this morning as retailer figures are coming in. Over-all retail sales for the month of august are expected to be down 3.4 Percent. With back to school shopping weak .. Macys year to year sales are down over 8 percent. Even warehouse giant costco saw 2 percent dip from last august. And even though groceries remain strong America ns are changing their eating habits because of the economy. Thats according to Whole Foods annual survey Which shows that nearly two thirds of americans have changed the way they grocery shop With more then half eating dinner at home more often (TRT=00:36)
17:28:41.18 The economy has changed the way you eat. A survey by Whole Foods market found half of families are eating dinner at home more often. However, 3/4 are not willing to compromise on food quality, that group (TRT=17:28:58)
17:39:52.13 The new survey conducted for Whole Foods shows that 51% of americans are eating dinner at home more often as a way to save money. People also like the family time it creates. However, 22% said they rarely or never cook. Imagine being able to eat whatever you want and not gain weight (TRT=00:22)
19:07:57.30 Bill, a little side bar to this, something which people are calling buy, not boycott, buy cot. Kind of a reverse boycott if you will and stemming from the fact that the head man of Whole Foods company wrote something critical of the administration and his, meaning whole goodz normal constituency, right, turned against him, and people wouldnt necessarily be in there buying that stuff or rushing out to buy so, i explained explain this does that make sense? It does. It was an odd choice for the ceo of Whole Foods to make. Mackie i believe his name is. Because like you say, there is a certain it isnt a normal grocery store like if the shah nukes were to come out in favor of some political thing people wouldnt care so much but there is a political angle to Whole Foods and sort of a left leaning arigula. Arugula. The stuff that obama eats. So for on mr. Mackie to write a piece at odds with barack obama and health care reform, it is easy for me to understand why the people who go to Whole Foods because of its deeper peeng meaning, are upset and it is also easy to understand the pro or the antireform people, want to show their support with the buy cot. Didnt think that what mackie wrote in the "wall street journal" on august 12 was really different from what a lot of people who shop Whole Foods believe. He talked about the importance of eating nutrient-rich vegetables and this can help you avoid all sorts of cancers. The presidents kind of on that page as well. As i understand it. But mackie did point out that there is no incentive for health care consumers to keep costs down. All right. On that note he is against the health care reform. If you will pardon me i will have to point out that this is pledge week. I know you are all waitingor that (TRT=11:19)
19:19:16.32 We are back after that nice little interlude with wendy wiese and did i interrupt you, raymond? I wouldnt say that. But i would have liked to have interrupted charles when he was distorting the issue a little bit because the ceo of Whole Foods did in fact attack obamas health care plan. And the "wall street journal" and bill is right. And i have never met a right or left i didnt like. People have the right to vote with their pocket books. I was amused at the buy cot from people on the right who are into guns, god and kashi or tofu or whatever. It was kind of symbolic because they will go to are these your zombie friends? You can call them whatever you want. In this case i just think it is kind of fun i would like to be there when they show up in the tofu aisle. But i think that people were absolutely within their rights as bill says, you know, Whole Foods doesnt isnt just a grocery store. Everything is environmental. Everything is sort of, as he said, left wing and progressively and whatever and i think that anytime consumers want to make a statement with their pocket books they have every right to do so. Lets move on here (TRT=01:15)
06:42:53.08 And we did a story a while ago about how big companies are using it to create awareness of a brand or to get their message across. A later example is bgc hospital is using at which time tore keep people informed about what the wait time is in the er. And hes only 32 years old. 32 Years old. And they expect to generate revenue in the upcoming months from starbucks and dell and Whole Foods as they use to connect with customers. So well see how that model works (TRT=00:36)
20:06:22.24 So its only natural that the naturalist would be asked to create a mural for a natural food chain. I was thrilled.
